Jan 2025 – May 2025Product owner and engineering manager of a new team, Developer Tooling (DevTools). Thought deeply about our existing tech stack and created roadmaps and strategies for the team's new portfolio of internal products and services, from the observability stack to CI/CD. Interviewed and hired the right people.
- Rearchitected our observability stack (metrics, logs and traces). It ingests 1M metric datapoints per second and hundreds of millions of log lines per day. Compared to the legacy stack it needs close to zero maintenance, keeps data much longer (years for metrics), handles more complex queries, answers faster on average and costs less. Migrating the historic data showed it can scale to 20–30× today's volume with minimal changes.
- Introduced Argo CD, Argo Workflows and Argo Rollouts. As of Q3 2026, our Argo CD manages over 900 applications across 20+ clusters in several clouds.
Senior platform engineer, CloudOps
Aug 2023 – Dec 2024Same responsibilities as during my consulting period: keeping the Digital Trust Platform (DTP) fast and reliable for millions of end users and pleasant to use for hundreds of internal engineers; mentoring teams in DTP, Kubernetes, DevOps and observability; assisting other teams during incidents and post-mortems.
- Decommissioned the original on-prem environment, live since the company was founded in 2008. It took almost a full year and was extremely challenging; earlier attempts had stalled after five years of trying.
- Developed a lower-risk, zero-downtime way to upgrade istio-ingressgateway with a novel stable/canary setup, at a time when the official documentation said it wasn't possible. Then did 10+ Istio upgrades without issues to catch up to the latest version.
- Countless changes, tweaks and troubleshooting projects.

Apr 2022 – Dec 2022Kept the new Digital Trust Platform (DTP) — the consolidated home for all of Signicat's offerings — fast and reliable for millions of end users, and pleasant to use for hundreds of internal engineers. DTP grows constantly, peaking at millions of high-value transactions per day, while acquired companies' technology keeps migrating onto it. Mentored teams in DTP, Kubernetes, DevOps and observability; assisted other teams during incidents and post-mortems.
- Built a permanent fix for sidecar config drift, a long-standing headache, in my second month.
- Refactored our Istio usage to cut unnecessary network costs from internal traffic being routed out through NAT and back, coordinating with every internal team.

Architect, backend developer and general DevOps.
- Architected and wrote the prototype, then the production backend API, for Siglar's first commercial product.
- Replaced a slow (12h+), brittle on-site pipeline that predicted ship movements across the globe with an API answering the common queries on the latest data in real time (<300 ms): routing from one or more commercial ships to any port or multi-leg journey, or finding ships within X days of one or more ports. Moved everything to the cloud for under $200/month. Heavy use of Go, PostgreSQL and PostGIS.

Sole network and systems engineer (consultant) — via Chipmunk Technology AS
Operated and upgraded all network equipment and supporting systems: switched and routed networks, DNS and DHCP servers, CPE provisioning, multicast IPTV delivery, and planning of bandwidth and fiber capacity (including DWDM and CWDM).
- Substantially improved uptime and reliability of all services. The customer base grew from ~2,000 to ~3,500 during my tenure, while the base subscription rose from 10 Mbit to 100 Mbit.
- Developed a bespoke network monitoring and troubleshooting system (mainly PHP, SNMP and MySQL) that let non-technical staff debug and triage most common problems, freeing my time for larger initiatives.
- Upgraded many PoPs from Cisco 29xx series and media converters to SFP-native Cisco 45xx and ME34xx, implemented real geographic redundancy in the fiber network, and upgraded the backbone from 155 Mbit/1 Gbit to 10GE+.
